Even when one lives in Japan to learn Japanese, there are not as many chances as one hopes to meet Japanese, who are not the staff members of the language school. Here at Interculture Language School, we foster such chances for our students to meet the everyday Japanese people in various ways, so their learning Japanese and student life in Japan would become even more exciting to them.
Intercultural Gatherings with Japanese Volunteers
Interculture Institute of Japan is always recruiting Japanese who are interested in cultural exchange with people from overseas as volunteers. As of December 2006, we have over 300 people registered as volunteers for our program, and we now are happy to report that many of these registered volunteers attend our Inter-culture socials each month. At such gatherings, we urge for all to speak in any language, Japanese, English, Korean, or any other languages, and as a result of such exchanges, we hope you will be able to brush up your Japanese.
Intercultural Gatherings with Japanese Junior and Senior High School Students.
Junior and senior high school students come from all over the nation to our school for Intercultural experiences, as part of their school trip to the nation’s capital, Tokyo. At such socials, we have a great time together doing quiz games about Japanese dialects or giving lessons for other languages by our foreign students etc. It‘s really fun to hear and try different Japanese dialects from Tohoku, Kansai, and Kyushu.
Participation in Cultural Exchange Clubs of Colleges and Local Organizations
You will get the chance to participate in events, which are held by university students who are interested in international cultural exchanges. You will also find clubs where all neighbors meets for cultural exchanges. You will meet not only Japanese college students that are your age group, but also older Japanese people as well.
