Year-round schedule

Orientation

An explanation is provided for new students regarding school life and general life in Japan. A placement test will also be conducted.

Entrance ceremony

This is the first opportunity for all new students to meet together. The ceremony is conducted at a Ward Hall.

Regular tests

Regular tests are conducted once every three months. A chance for students to show the results of their studies.

Overnight trip

This is a trip in which more than 500 of all students in the school participate. We will stay at a hot-spring inn, and a karaoke party will be held at night.

Speech contest

Representatives of each class give a speech on various themes including Japanese culture and personal experiences.

Practice examination for the Examination for Japanese University Admission for International Students

A practice examination will be held for the Examination for Japanese University Admission for International Students necessary for students to enter major universities in Japan.

Practice examination for the Japanese Language Proficiency Test

This is a good opportunity for students to check their Japanese proficiency in preparation for the actual test held in December.

Tanabata (Star Festival)

This is a traditional event originating in China. People write their wishes on tanzaku (strips of paper), and hang them on bamboo.

Kagami Biraki (Cutting of the Mochi)

This is an event to wish for the happiness of one’s family by eating mochi (glutinous rice cake) offered to the gods. Oshiruko (sweet red bean soup) with mochi in it will be given to students on that day.

Setsubun (Seasonal Division)

This is an event to wish well-being by throwing soybeans at oni (demons) to drive away the evil spirits. Oni may appear in classroom.

A day trip

We have a day trip to visit sightseeing spots around the Kanto area, including Tokyo Disney Sea and the Hakkeijima Sea Paradise.

Hina Matsuri (Doll Festival)

This is an event to wish for the healthy growth of girls. We display hina ningyo (ornamental dolls), and have amazake (sweet sake) and hina arare (sweet small crackers).
