Long-term course
The Intercultural Institute of Japan offers long-term courses, from 1-year to 2-years in length, to individuals entering Japan with a student visa. The school is located at Akihabara, Tokyo. Students may choose from Regular, Preparatory and Business Courses.

The purpose for studying Japanese vary by student. The Intercultural Institute of Japan provides a Regular Course, Preparatory Course, and Business Course so that students can select the course most suitable to their needs at the time of their enrollment.

This is a course for students who have various interests, including those who like Japan, who are interested in Japan and the Japanese language, who wish to learn Japanese culture, and who wish to speak with Japanese people. Such students can learn Japanese while further developing their interests, and study what they really want to learn.
This is a course for students who aim to proceed to a university, graduate school, or professional school in Japan. Guidance is provided for advancement to higher education and preparatory study, mainly through counseling with homeroom teachers, to ensure that students can enter into the school of their choice. Guidance for Japanese is also provided to students with an eye toward their future study in higher education.
This is a course for students who wish to obtain a job using Japanese, including those who desire to work in Japan or who plan to obtain a job using Japanese after returning to their own countries. Students will not only learn the language but also Japanese attitude toward work, and corporate culture.
Study Period and Proficiency Level
In our school, we have 11 levels of classes from B2 level which is zero beginners to A1 level which ability is almost as same as Japanese native speaker. This will assure you to studyin a class that is appropriate to you.

| 19~21 | 7 | Orally responding to arguments and novels and increasing reading abilities while being able to explain the storyline of written works.。 |
| 22~24 | 8 | Complete ability to understand Japanese TV and newspapers. |
| 9 | Can respond to a wide variety of topics and can discuss complicated and abstract ideas. | |
| 10 | Understand university lectures and can compose logical arguments. | |

Class Hours and Japanese Level
Students take four 50-minute morning or afternoon classes. Classes are scheduled according to the level of Japanese. Students in the Basics to beginning Intermediate levels attend classes in the morning and advanced Intermediate to Advanced level students take afternoon classes.

Course Commencement and Application Period
Students wishing to enroll in the long-term course will need to apply for a student visa. Please plan ahead (How to apply for the long-term course) as it will take time to prepare all the necessary documents. Application forms are accepted approximately six months prior to your desired date of entrance. Students applying from overseas should contact the Study Abroad Office or inquire using the Inquiry Form (A form provided on the Contact us page).

Fees
Tuition fee may be paid by half year basis. Textbook fee is NOT included. Also, all the students are obligated by the law to join the Japanese National Health Insurance.
