Intensive Business Course
This is a 10-week, five-days-per-week (Monday to Friday) intensive course that teaches the four skills of speaking, listening, reading and writing in a well-balanced curriculum, and is for business persons, company trainees, and individuals wishing to obtain jobs for which Japanese is used. Students learn Japanese required in daily living and in business situations as well as a knowledge of Japanese business appropriate to their level.
Course Commencement
The Intensive Business Course is a 10-week course beginning four times per year.
The April Term will have a break for the Golden Week holidays and the July Term will have a break for Summer Vacation.

There are four 40-minute classes that begin at 9:00 in the morning and finish at 12:10 p.m.

Description of each level
There are wide-ranging levels available for Intensive Business Course, from Basic to Advanced. Classes at each level extend for 10 weeks. (What is CEFR?)

For individuals learning Japanese for the first time, communication skills are developed for day-to-day living and office situations, including self introductions, shopping, ordering, visiting hospitals, and other situations. Grammar and sentence structures are learned in stages to build a foundation for learning at a higher level. Hiragana, katakana and kanji characters are also studied. (CEFR: Level A1)
Targeting individuals with a basic level of communication, reading and writing skills. Students will be able to communicate with their colleagues and convey their opinions and desires. Kanji, reading comprehension and composition writing are also learned. Students acquire the proficiency required to pass Level 4 of the Japanese Language Proficiency Test. (CEFR: Level A2)
Students polish their grammar and conversation skills while learning simple business vocabulary that will be useful in office communication. Honorific expressions required in business situations will also be studied, as well as the ability to read and write simple business reports. Students acquire the proficiency required to pass Level 3 of the Japanese Language Proficiency Test.(CEFR: Level B1)
Basic business conversation commonly used in office situations is practiced. Students improve their Japanese communication skills with their colleagues and learn basic business vocabulary that will enable them to handle simple business tasks.
Functional Situations: Self introductions, greetings, making requests, refusals, etc. (CEFR: Level B1)
Students can use more complicated functional expressions according to the situation and according to their relationship to the person they are addressing. Students learn basic expressions used in business conversations over the telephone which enable students to appropriately handle incoming calls.
Functional Situations: Intercommunication, reservations, apologies, transferring calls, etc. (CEFR: Level B2)
Through the acquiring of vocabulary and expressions related to specialized fields and practicing more actual conversation, students become proficient in performing general office work in Japanese. Students will also learn Japanese corporate culture and business manners. Students acquire the proficiency required to pass Level 2 of the Japanese Language Proficiency Test. Functional Situations: Making appointments, inquiries, visits, oral examination, etc. (CEFR: Level C1)
Students learn the appropriate type of language to use with business clients and associates at different levels of the corporate hierarchy and acquire the practical skills to handle diverse business situations such as meetings and business negotiations in Japanese. Lessons will include business conversation using high levels of strategy, effective presentations, business document creation, and writing e-mails. Students acquire the proficiency required to pass Level 1 of the Japanese Language Proficiency Test. (CEFR: Level C2)
